locally there are two things to be done.
both at the same time and moving ahead altogether.

the dam must be built but the use of the water must be allocated to arable and not dairy and the arable must be to increase the seed cropping for the rest of the world.
the quid pro quo is that lake Wairarapa must be dredged for a good central chanel and improved water flow and the sediment deposited on the sponge until it becomes usable again.

it requires the co-operation and co-ordiantion of aneducational provider allied to a pre thought out view.
all towns need parallel industries to maintain a sense of social cohesion and group activity in the town and this is the hard part.
looking at any other small town in New Zealand and you will see that this is so.
Masterton is down on industry and needs to be kick started with determination and clear vision.
that is the mission statement.
